Train Versus Pedestrian
This afternoon, patrol deputies from Caddo Parish responded to an incident involving a pedestrian and a train in Vivian, according to Sheriff Henry Whitehorn, Sr.
Just before 12 PM today (August 3), deputies were dispatched to the scene of an incident where a pedestrian had been struck by a train. Upon arrival, they discovered that a man and woman were walking on the railroad tracks near North Lillie Street in Vivian, Louisiana, for reasons that are currently unknown. The man was able to move off the tracks in time; however, the woman was unable to get out of the way and was struck by the train.
Caddo Fire District 8 responded to the scene and decided to call LifeAir to transport the woman to the hospital. LifeAir arrived and transported her to LSU Health, located at 1501 Kings Highway in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
The incident is still under investigation.
